Όσοι γνωρίζετε το έργο μου αλλά και εμένα προσωπικά επί σειρά ετών, γνωρίζετε με κάθε βεβαιότητα πως δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να γράψω ένα βιβλίο το οποίο να μην έχει μέσα πληροφορίες ή μηνύματα που θεωρώ ότι οφείλω να βάλω μέσα στις σελίδες του.
Ένα βιβλίο θα σου προσφέρει τους θησαυρούς του, μόνο όταν έχεις να μάθεις μέσα από αυτό. Το βιβλίο είναι γνώση και η γνώση, παραμένει ανοιχτή ΜΟΝΟ για εκείνους που μπορούν να πιάσουν με τις κεραίες τους τα μηνύματά της, να τα επεξεργαστούν, να προβληματιστούν και κατά συνέπεια, να βαδίσουν κι εκείνοι τον δύσκολο δρόμο της έρευνας, έναν μοναχικό, κοπιαστικό δρόμο που αν τον αγαπήσεις, δεν μπορείς παρά να τον βαδίζεις για χρόνια, μελετώντας, κι όχι απλά διαβάζοντας, επίπονα και επίμονα.
Είναι ο δρόμος που αποκαλώ The Lost and Found Road, επειδή ψευδώς σου φαίνεται πως χάνεις πολλά για να τον περπατήσεις, μα στο τέλος του ταξιδιού, έχοντας βρει ακόμα περισσότερα, ξέρεις πως άνοιξε άλλη μία πόρτα η οποία και θα σε καλωσορίσει στο επόμενο ταξίδι που θα κάνεις.
Ήταν, είναι και θα παραμείνει αδιανόητο να γράψω ένα βιβλίο που δεν έχει μέσα πληροφορίες και μηνύματα και χαίρομαι όταν με το πέρασμα των χρόνων, βρίσκω πολλούς συνοδοιπόρους που συμφωνούμε πάνω στο θέμα και ταυτιζόμαστε πλήρως.
Έχοντας δεχτεί λοιπόν πολλές ερωτήσεις για τα έργα που μελέτησα ώστε να αποδώσω σωστά τα αρχαιολογικά δεδομένα της πλοκής και να μεταφέρω δίχως αυθαίρετες αποκλίσεις τις πληροφορίες εκείνες που θα έδιναν στο βιβλίο Έμπονυ Βάργκας ~ Νυχτερινοί Ψίθυροι μία σωστή και ακριβέστατη αρχαιολογική συνέπεια, παραθέτω τις έρευνες που μελέτησα, αναρτώντας τον παρακάτω κατάλογο με τις πηγές που με βοήθησαν και που δεν είναι άλλες από:
i. μελέτες για το ανασκαπτικό έργο
αρχαιολόγων στην Μεσοποταμία,
ii. {επιστημονικά} ημερολόγια ταξιδιωτικών
{και αρχαιολογικών} περιηγήσεων,
iii. εκδόσεις Μουσείων και Ιδρυμάτων του εξωτερικού
που πραγματεύονται ξεχωριστούς τομείς
της επιστήμης της Αρχαιολογίας του κλάδου της Ασσυριολογίας και του τμήματος Ανατολικών Σπουδών,
όπως παραδείγματος χάριν, λεξικά, ιστορία της τέχνης,
χάρτες αρχαιολογικών τοποθεσιών,
θεογονικοί και κοσμογονικοί μύθοι
Ασσυρίων, Βαβυλωνίων, Σουμερίων κ. ά..,
iv. καθώς και γλωσσολογικές έρευνες
για την μετάφραση της σφηνοειδούς γραφής
και της φωνητικής απόδοσης
των διαφόρων ασσυροβαβυλωνιακών λέξεων και προτάσεων
που χρησιμοποίησα στο βιβλίο.
